World Expo 2010
Pavilions I went to:
- Urbanian Pavilion
- Philippines (We had ridiculously expensive Filipino food for lunch here.)
- Australia
- Indonesia
- Denmark
- Sweden
- UK
- Spain
- France
- Germany
Yeah, those were all, and mind you we were there for 12+ hours. The common mode of transportation was using your own two feet (or a John Locke woohoo Lost reference, and for that you get into the special old people/disabled/pregnant line.) Did I mention that Expo site was about three Disneylands, and to get to the other side you have to cross a river? We also had to stop to eat/drink, to excrete what we ate/drank, and to rest our overworked limbs. And the lines were either less than 10 minutes, 45 minutes or you’re lining up for the Germany pavilion.
Would’ve made 10 country pavilions but I waited more than an hour in line for Germany, which had the longest line, went around 3/4 of the building times three, and I can’t really say it’s worth it. I love Germany so much I don’t care, though. Besides, I was able to get in a verbal fight with this Chinese woman attempting to cut in front of me from outside the line and I got an imaginary patience ribbon from the Berlin polar bear.
Pavilions I wish I had time/patience/strength to get into: Switzerland (THEY HAVE A CABLE CAR), Egypt, Greece, Italy, Singapore, Russia, Polska, Finland (It was closed that day), Portugal, Japan, Iceland, European Union, Belgium and… everything else. I love traveling and technology and awesome architecture. I felt infinite.
